It explains how to create a TEAM for your course and recruit students to the TEAM, record lectures and tutorials and then upload them to Media Hopper and embed inside LEARN for easy access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is VERY important to note that TEAMS is not supported by student systems as a teaching tool and does not integrate with LEARN automatically. TEAMS software is also subject to changes in ways that Blackboard Collaborate might remain consistent. However, there are some benefits to working with TEAMS in the delivery of course material that some teachers may appreciate. It\u2019s important that you select the correct TEAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Set the TEAM channel in the calendar Setup<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start the class from the calendar by clicking Join<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the team members can join the TEAM class meeting directly from the Calendar within TEAMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tell people you are recording the class<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you begin recording, tell the class that this is what you intend to do, then start recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recording in TEAMS is explained here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to record a meeting in Microsoft Teams, demo tutorial\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_hjfQ41LF0w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The live class can be auto captioned by TEAMS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tell the students where to find this function, it\u2019s explained here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/use-live-captions-in-a-teams-meeting- 4be2d304-f675-4b57-8347-cbd000a21260\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/use-live-captions-in-a-teams-meeting- 4be2d304-f675-4b57-8347-cbd000a21260 (opens in a new tab)\">support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/use-live-captions-in-a-teams-meeting- 4be2d304-f675-4b57-8347-cbd000a21260<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TEAMS will auto transcribe the class so that people can read what\u2019s being said in real- time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When the class is finished<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Download the recording from the chat. Do this as soon as it is available to download as the recordings expire after 20 days and they aren\u2019t captioned and are not available in LEARN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Upload the video recording to media hopper<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"https:\/\/media.ed.ac.uk\/ (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/media.ed.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">media.ed.ac.uk\/<\/a>, you\u2019ll need to log in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need to make the film public, unless you want it public, just select the sharable link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copy the link that Media hopper gives and add the link to your LEARN page for that particular week\u2019s content. This way the film will be easily accessible to students and available for resits too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Request captioning of the film<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process is explained here:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/media.ed.ac.uk\/media\/0_e5w9ufj2&nbsp;When\" class=\"autohyperlink\">media.ed.ac.uk\/media\/0_e5w9ufj2&nbsp;When<\/a> the film has been captioned, you can edit the captions if you have the time, but this is a very low priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A final note of caution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TEAMS enables open and public chat between all members of the TEAM. In large courses, or simply courses with enthusiastic cohort that you\u2019re encouraging, the chat can quickly become hard to monitor.
