When a student fails to observe University rules and regulations, disciplinary action may be taken against them through the procedures set out in the University\u2019s Code of Student Conduct.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/academic-services\/staff\/discipline\">www.ed.ac.uk\/academic-services\/staff\/discipline<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/academic-services\/staff\/discipline\/code-discipline\">www.ed.ac.uk\/academic-services\/staff\/discipline\/code-discipline<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Academic Misconduct<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This includes plagiarism, collusion, falsification, deceit, cheating and personation. The University takes all reported incidences of academic misconduct seriously and seeks to ensure that they are dealt with efficiently and appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>Information on academic misconduct including the academic misconduct procedure is available here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/academic-services\/staff\/discipline\/academic-misconduct\">www.ed.ac.uk\/academic-services\/staff\/discipline\/academic-misconduct<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Plagiarism<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The University takes plagiarism very seriously and is committed to ensuring that so far as possible it is detected and dealt with appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>Plagiarism is the act of copying or including in one\u2019s own work, without adequate acknowledgement, intentionally or unintentionally, the work of another or your own previously assessed original work.
