Screen grabbing your software for submission

These two videos show how to setup a Zoom H6 to record your software in use. The H6 is setup as an audio card and you can use a cable from your computer into the Zoom and mix the microphone and computer sound in order to make a nicer-sounding video of your patch in use.

Don’t worry that this is Mac-specific and you don’t have a mac, you can come and do this in any of the studios in Alison House, or in the soundlab. There are no-doubt windows solutions to this too, but I’ve not tried them as yet. I believe that quicktime works exactly the same way on Windows so this should apply exactly – I’ve not tested it.

Here’s the screen shot, when you open quicktime and make a new screen recording, select the H6 in the drop menu of inputs by the record button.
